Sea & Swimming All Year Round
All around the Falsterbo Peninsula, there are endless stretches of wide, white beaches that have attracted bathers for many, many years. Historically, it was mainly the warm, pleasant summer swimming that drew people here, but now we’re seeing a huge rise in the trend of cold-water bathing. Some say that winter dips improve blood circulation and boost the immune system; others simply feel energized afterward.
The several-kilometer-long, somewhat lesser-known sandy beach closest to Strandvillan—Ljunghusen Beach—lies just 150 meters away. Grab your book, towel, and sunscreen, and enjoy wonderful swims and endless white sand just a few minutes from your door.
Right below Strandvillan is the popular, accessibility-adapted swimming area in the Falsterbo Canal. Ramps to the jetty and pier make it easier for wheelchair users to get around, and the municipality also offers beach wheelchairs for borrowing. Here you’ll find clean changing rooms with showers and toilets, maintained daily.
The shallow waters around the peninsula are ideal for water sports, and more and more people are surfing year-round. At Ljunghusen Beach, there is a specially designated area for kite surfers.
